Artist Statement

When I was a young girl, I realized that I didn’t have a passion for a traditional career. Unlike many of my peers who wanted to become nurses, firefighters, scientists, and so on, I was drawn to something different. I was the girl who had a knack for creativity. Whether that be expressed through hours of crafting, sewing, drawing, painting, you name it, I probably dabbled in it. However, there was always one enthralling hobby that stuck out to me the most, game creation.

Growing up with video games like The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Minecraft, Disney Infinity, and a plethora of other sandbox titles, I quickly learned that I enjoyed creating something from nothing and bringing to life my own digital world. The freedom to express myself and share with my friends and family the things I had made brought me so much joy. Starting off small with constructing board games from cardboard boxes to getting clever and using website builders like Wix to make my own interactive browser games, I knew I had found a passion here.

Several years later into my adulthood, I still have a great fascination, and it is my dream to be a part of the visual and creative process that goes into developing video games, including concept art, storylines, asset creation, world building, and promotion. Now that I have an extensive skillset in 3D modeling, texturing, and animation, I’ve been able to bring my ideas to fruition. I gather the majority of my inspiration from nature and particularly adore set and world building. Welding together the natural, fantastical, and human world is my signature. I have now

had the pleasure of developing a few of my own games, including VR, from start to finish, featuring my handcrafted assets. Cultivating skills in programs that allow me to bring my creations to life has been the most rewarding and full circle feeling for the little girl I once was.
