Artist Statement

My main artistic focus is building video game environments that weave a hybrid reality, mixing historic folk magic with fictitious realms of dragons and mages. To materialize these worlds, I sculpt 3D objects in Autodesk Maya and hand-paint textures in Adobe Substance Painter, transforming simple surfaces into complex, layered environments. My process focuses on creating highly optimized game art that ensures a seamless player experience without sacrificing the visually compelling details that envelop the audience. Using the Unity game engine, I program mechanics and interactivity to evolve these environments into fully realized, multi-sensory experiences.

I love to create digital worlds because video games were my primary escape growing up; when life felt too heavy to bear, their fabricated tales of hope and pure-of-heart heroes drew me away from a harsh reality. The comfort and optimism I found in those adventures sparked a lifelong mission to share that same sanctuary with others who need a reprieve from their own reality.

Interwoven in this work is my fascination with real-world magical practices, such as ancient herbalism and metaphysical intent. By grounding my mechanics in these traditions, I bridge the gap between historical practices and interactive media, creating a world where magic is not just a felt presence, but a vividly seen and animated force. Through these works, I invite the player to recognize magic in all things—whether in the juniper berries on the sidewalk or the quiet intention behind a wish. While reality may seem bleak at times, the defiant autonomy found in wishing on a star and believing it will come true is what I seek to capture within my digital realms.
